Performing a Factory Reset
Thereceiver’sNon‐VolatileRandomAccessMemory(NVRAM)holdsdatarequiredforsatellitetracking,suchasephemerisdata
andreceiverposition.TheNVRAMalsokeepsthecurrentreceiver’ssettings,suchasactiveantennainput,elevationmasksand
recordinginterval,andinformationaboutthereceiver’sinternalfilesystem.Afactoryresetclears
thereceiver’sNVRAMand
restoresthereceiver’sfactorydefaultsettings.
AlthoughafactoryresetorclearingtheNVRAMisnotrecommendedasacommonpractice,therearetimeswhenitcan
eliminatecommunicationortrackingproblems.
Afterafactoryreset,thereceiverrequirestimetocollectnewephemeridesandalmanacs(aro und 15minutes).
Afactoryresetwillnotdeleteanyfilesalreadyrecordedinthereceiver’smemory,andth eNVRAMkeepsinformationaboutthe
receiverfilesystem.
Therearetwowaysyoucanperformafactoryreset:usingTRUandusingtheLEDdisplaypanel.
UsingTRUtocleartheNVRAM:
1. Connectthereceivertoacomputer,andopenTRU.SeetheTopcon ReceiverUtility(TRU)OnlineHelpformore
information aboutconnectingthereceivertoacomputer.
2. InTRU,connecttothereceiver.
