Manual

c) Electrical Connection
The mains outlet must be located near to the device and be easily accessible.
Never pull the mains plug from the socket by pulling at the cable. Always pull it from the mains
socket using the intended grips.
Unplug the mains plug from the mains socket if you do not use the device for an extended
period of time.
For safety reasons, always unplug the device during thunderstorms.
Make sure that the mains cable is not squeezed, bent, damaged by sharp edges or put under
mechanical stress. Avoid excessive thermal stress on the mains cable from extreme heat or
cold. Do not modify the mains cable. Otherwise the mains cable may be damaged. A damaged
mains cable can cause a deadly electric shock.
Do not touch the mains cable if it is damaged. First, power down the respective mains socket
(e.g. via the respective circuit breaker) and then carefully pull the mains plug from the mains
socket. Never use the product if the mains cable is damaged.
To prevent risks, damaged power cables may only be replaced by the manufacturer, a profes-
sional workshop appointed by the manufacturer, or a similarly qualied person.
Never plug in or unplug the mains plug when your hands are wet.
Always lay the cables so that nobody can trip over or become entangled in them. This poses
a risk of injury.
d) Operation
Never touch the barrel or tip of the soldering iron during use. Risk of burns!
Never use the soldering iron to heat up liquids.
Never solder live electrical components or parts. Always switch off the power before-hand.
Do not cover or fasten any items to the soldering iron. Otherwise there is a risk of re.
Touching or soldering capacitors (or similar components) or leads/cables that are connected
to capacitors may cause a fatal electric shock! Capacitors may stay charged for several hours
after you switch off the power supply!
Always solder on non-ammable surfaces. Protect other materials nearby from damage
through heat.
Risk of re or explosion! Do not use around or near explosive or ammable materials.
Turn the power off and place the soldering iron on the stand while taking breaks or not
using.
e) Work Safety
Ensure that there is sufcient lighting.
Ensure proper ventilation during soldering. Solder and ux vapours can be harmful to your
health.
Wash your hands thoroughly after working with solder. This is particularly important when
using lead-based solder.
Do not put soldering alloys into your mouth. Do not eat or drink during soldering.
Wear suitable protective clothing and safety goggles when soldering. Liquid/splashing solder
may cause serious burns or eye damage.
For installations in industrial facilities, follow the accident prevention regulations for electrical
systems and equipment of the government safety organization or the corresponding authority
for your country.
Stand
Do not overbend or adjust the height too many times as this may break the metal.
Maintenance and Care
Always keep the tip tinned before switching off or storing for any period of time.
Never clean the tip with coarse, abrasive materials like les.
If oxide forms on the tip, lightly rub with abrasive paper, wipe clean, then immediately reheat and re-tin
the tip to prevent oxidation of the wettable surface.
Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions as they can
cause damage to the housing and malfunctioning.
Disposal
Electronic devices are recyclable waste and must not be disposed of in the household waste.
At the end of its service life, dispose of the product in accordance with applicable regulatory
guidelines. You thus fulll your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the
environment.
