User manual

Suction lifters produce high negative pressures to some extent. Before use, check
whether the load can endure such stress and whether it can absorb the force
input. The suction lifter must be attached to a sufciently stable point of the load.
Do not overload the suction lifter. The stated load capacity refers to clean, smooth
and even glass slabs at temperatures of 20 °C and an air pressure of 1013 mbar.
Cold temperatures, humidity, dirt, damaged/aged suction plates or other load ma-
terials may greatly reduce the load capacity. Besides, with rising altitude above sea
level, the air pressure decreases. This also reduces the specied load capacity.
The user is responsible to check before use, whether the suction lifter is suitable
for its intended use.
Use the suction lifter only for hoisting and the short-term transportation of loads.
Check regularly on stable grip, if the load remains on the suction lifter for longer
periods. If the force of the connection weakens or if you have any doubts about
this, reattach the suction lifter.
Avoid lateral force impacts to the suction plates during use.
• Never trigger release mechanism that may be present when carrying a load.
Ensure that the object to be lifted is not porous. The surface must be clean, dry
and free of oil and grease. The lifting force is reduced sharply or even neutralised
on rough or porous surfaces.
Do not use sharp or hard objects to detach the suction lifter from the load after use.
Lift the suction plate with your nger instead.
Do not use the suction lifter on surfaces that can damage the suction plate or the
sealing lip of the suction plate.
c) Maintenance and care
Always store the suction lifter so that damage to the suction plates are ruled out.
Suction lifters and the suction plates in particular must always be stored under
clean conditions and free from oils, greases and dust.
Always detach the suction lifter from the load before storing it away for longer
periods.
If necessary, clean the suction plate(s) with spirit cleaner or other appropriate
detergents. Never use aggressive cleaning agents that may damage the material.
To maintain the elasticity of the suction plate(s), do not expose it to excessive
sunlight.
Suction plates may leave residues on the surface of the load during the rst times
of use or if left on the load for a longer time. Usually, these residues are easily
removed with a spirit cleaner or other detergent. Nevertheless, test out the toler-
ability of the detergent rst on a less noticeable area.
General instructions for suction lifters
Intended use
Suction lifters are used to lift, carry and hold glass and marble slabs or other objects with a
smooth, at and gas-tight surface. The maximum load is indicated on the type plate of the suc-
tion lifter or its packaging and must not be exceeded.
For safety and approval reasons, you may not convert and/or alter the suction lifter.
If you use the product for other purposes than those described above, the product may be
damaged. Improper use may also cause dangers such as loads falling and injuring people or
other accidents associated with it.
Please read the operating instructions carefully and do not discard them. If you pass the suction
lifter on to a third party, please hand over these operating instructions as well.

a) General notes
Suction lifters are hand tools and do not belong in the hands of children. This
product is not a toy. Keep out of the reach of children and pets.
Do not carelessly cast aside the packaging material. It may become a dangerous
plaything for children.
The suction lifter should not be exposed to:
- High mechanical loads
- Extreme temperatures (for example, from open re)
- Lengthy storage with exposure to strong sunlight
Please consult a specialist if you have any doubts regarding the use or safety of
the product.
If you have any questions that are not answered in these operating instructions,
please contact our technical customer service or another specialist.
b) Use
suction lifters should be used by persons or under the supervision of persons who
are experienced in handling such tools.
Always check the suction plate(s) and the suction lifter for damage before us-
ing them. The surface of the suction plate(s) must be smooth, even and clean; it
should not show any cracks or damage. Do not use the suction lifter any longer,
once its functionality is limited due to wear, lack of elasticity, cracks or the like.
Do not use the suction lifter contrary to the purpose intended.
Check whether the suction lifter is suitable for the application intended before use.
Secure the load to be lifted additionally (if necessary, also repeatedly).
Put down the load immediately, if you notice a weakening suction effect during use
and reattach the suction lifter again.
Suction lifters must not be used in conjunction with cranes, pulleys or other lifting
devices.
Never use the suction lifter to lift persons or animals, or to lift objects carrying
persons or animals.
Never use the suction lifter as a support for people.
Never move the loads carried by the suction lifter over people.
Make sure the load is well secured before detaching the suction lifter from the
load.
