• The mains outlet to which the wall extension reel is connected must be located
close to the product and be easily accessible.
• The earthed mains connection of the wall extension reel is equipped with a child
lock. Only when the prongs of the interconnection are placed in both openings of
a socket at the same time will the child-lock mechanism release the opening.
However, be especially cautious when children are around. Children may not real-
ise the danger arising from the incorrect use of electrical devices. There is a risk of
a life-threatening electric shock!
• The product is not a toy and does not belong in the hands of children. Position the
product so it is out of the reach of children.
• Do not leave the packaging material unattended since this may become a danger-
ous plaything for children.
• Handle the product with care; it can be damaged by impacts, blows, or accidental
falls, even from a low height.
b) Mounting location
• The wall extension reel is protected according to IP20. It may be mounted and
operated only in dry, enclosed interior rooms; no moisture or damp may get into
the product! There is a risk of a life-threatening electric shock!
• Never place the product in the direct vicinity of a bathroom, swimming pool, shower/
bathtub or the like. Lethal hazard due to electric shock!
• The product must not be exposed to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight or
strong vibrations. Protect it against dust and dirt.
•
Operation in environments where there are high levels of dust, ammable gases,
vapours or solvents is not permitted. There is a danger of re and explosion!
•
The power cable must not be pinched or damaged by contact with sharp edges. Do
not place any objects on the cable, and do not allow it to become kinked. Install the
cable where no one can stumble over it and the plug is easily accessible. Do not
install the mains cable under carpets or the like.
c) Handling and use
• Do not reach into the openings of the wall extension reel. There is a risk of injury!
• Do not stick items into the wall extension reel. Do not prevent the automatic winder
from operating.

•
Never touch, operate, plug in or unplug the product with damp or wet hands. There
is a risk of a life-threatening electric shock!
• Do not connect the product to the power supply immediately after it has been
transferred from a cold room into a warm one (e.g., during transport). The conden-
sation that forms might destroy the device. Moreover, there is danger of electric
shock! Allow the product to reach room temperature. Wait until the condensation
has evaporated. This might take several hours. Only after this should it be plugged
in to the mains supply and put into use.
• The mains plug and the mains connection are protected according to IP44; the
mains cable used is likewise suitable for outdoor use.
However, a damp or wet mains cable must never be wound back on the wall
extension reel. Let the mains cable dry completely before you roll it up; otherwise,
there is a risk of a fatal electrical shock!
• Always pull a mains plug from a mains socket using the gripping surface intended
for this purpose. Never unplug the mains plug from a mains socket by pulling the
cable! The same applies when pulling a mains plug from the mains connection at
the end of the cable of the wall extension reel.
• Do not overload the wall extension reel.
When the mains cable is fully extended, the max. power rating is 3200 W. When
the mains cable is rolled up, the max. power rating is only 1100 W.
• Do not connect in series! This can lead to an overloading of the wall extension
reel! There is a risk of re!
Plug the earthed mains plug of the wall extension reel directly, e.g., into a wall
socket. Do not connect a power strip to the wall extension reel.
• Do not operate while it is covered! At higher connected loads, the wall extension
reel and the connecting cable become warm, which can lead to overheating and
potentially a re if covered!
• Voltage-free only when unplugged from the mains!
• Do not use the product when it is damaged (e.g., housing or power cable). There
is a risk of a life-threatening electric shock!
In this case, dispose of the product in an environmentally correct manner.
Safe operation can no longer be assumed if:
- the product shows visible signs of damage
- the product does not work at all or works poorly (leaking smoke or a smell of
burning, audible cracking noises, discolouration to the product or the adjacent
surfaces)
- the product was stored under unfavourable conditions
- it was exposed to heavy loads during transport
