DUAL 10 3. Intended use The Dual10 is a tablet PC intended for playing and managing media files, executing applications and surfing the internet. The device has been fitted with a touch screen, a Micro USB and Micro SD card slot. The device can also be connected to a PC or an external monitor with HDMI-in socket. 4. DUAL 10 7. Selection of icons on your tablet This chapter contains a selection of icons that you will find when you start using your tablet. Further on in this manual these symbols will be regularly referred to.
DUAL 10 8. Connecting peripherals The Dual 10 has a HDMI and a mini-USB slot (see chapter 6). Use the HDMI slot to connect the Dual 10 to a monitor with HDMI-in slot (see Figure 3). Use the mini-USB port and the USB cable to connect the Dual 10 to your PC. In addition, you can connect a mouse, keyboard, an external data carrier (mini-USB stick or external hard disk) or a 3G-dongle to the Dual 10 via the mini-USB port (see Figure 4). For more information on connecting via HDMI, see section 9.9.2.
DUAL 10 9. Using the tablet 9.1 Turn On/Off Turn on To start your tablet, press and hold the power key at the right side of your tablet for about 5 seconds. After your tablet has booted touch and hold the lock icon (see chapter 7, Lock icon) and do the following: Drag the lock on the open lock icon: you will go to the home screen. Drag the lock on the camera icon: you will go directly to the camera App (see Figure 5a and b).

DUAL 10 9.4.3 Add Widgets to home screen Tap the Apps launcher and then select Widgets at the top of the screen. Here you will find widgets like an analog clock, bookmarks, calendar, Email, and many more. Tap and hold the widget you want and drag it to the home screen. Tip: Besides your home screen, you can access four other panels by sliding left or right on your home screen. You can also customize these panels. 9.
DUAL 10 9.6 Internet browsing Before using the browser, make sure you have set up an Internet connection on your tablet. Go to the “Settings” App and under “Wireless and networks” you can connect to a Wi-Fi network. To browse the Internet, open the browser App (see chapter 7, Browser icon) in de Apps Launcher. Tap the address bar to bring up the Android keyboard for entry of keywords or a web address (a URL). Hold down the text field to edit text or change an input method.
DUAL 10 The following options are present in the Market (see Figure 10): Search: search for available Apps for your tablet My Apps: manage and update all the Apps on your tablet Menu: contains all other options of the application Figure 10 Go to “Apps” under “Settings” to manage Apps. 9.8 Find and install .APK files 9.8.1 Install .APK files The App Installer (see chapter 7, App Installer icon) allows you to install an .APK file from the internal memory or an SD card.
DUAL 10 Tap the menu icon at the bottom of the screen to open a submenu on the music page (see Figure 11). Figure 11 9.9.2 Video 9.9.2.1 Video player You can play videos stored on your tablet or SD card.
DUAL 10 Tap the video you would like to play. To playback, fast forward or pause your video tap the screen to display the toolbar (see Figure 13a ). You can also add bookmarks, adjust the brightness, or set the screen ratio. Press the right icon for more control options (see Figure 13a and b) a b Figure 13 9.9.2.2 HDMI output Connect the tablet to your monitor with HDMI-in port via an HDMI cable and wait a few seconds for your monitor, set to receive the display signal.
DUAL 10 Figure 14 9.9.4 Camera To open the camera App, first go to the Apps Launcher (see Figure 6(b)). Tap the camera icon (see chapter 7, Camera icon) to open the camera app. You can take a photo, or record a video. By tapping the small preview, you can switch between front and back camera. Tip: After turning on your tablet, you can go to the camera directly by dragging the lock icon onto the camera. 9.9.5 E-bookreader The tablet supports many e-book formats like PDF, Text, E-Pub, FB2.
DUAL 10 Figure 15 9.9.6 Setting up an E-mail account To use email on your tablet, use the E-Mail (see chapter 7, E-mail icon) application in the Apps Launcher. If you want to use Gmail, instead of using the E-mail App use the GMail (see chapter 7, Google mail icon) application which is specially designed for GMail, Google mail. To set up an email account on your tablet, you will need the incoming and outgoing server settings of your email account for the configuration.
DUAL 10 1 2 3 Open the E-mail application. Enter your email address and password and select “Next”. You will then be asked to select your email account type. After you have clicked on the appropriate type you will proceed to the next step. Depending on the type of account, details of the incoming server settings will be requested; enter all the details of the incoming server settings for your email account.
DUAL 10 4 5 6 Next, enter the outgoing server settings and then select “Volgende”. The E-mail App will automatically enter the most common default settings however they should be checked for correctness. If the settings are correct, you will proceed to the next step. If this is not the case, the tablet will indicate which details have not been correctly entered.
DUAL 10 7 8 After entering the required information, mail from your account will be downloaded onto the tablet and will appear on the screen within a few minutes. Your email account has been set up and is ready to be used.
DUAL 10 9.10 Settings Tap the “Settings” icon (see chapter 7, Settings icon) in the Apps Launcher (see Figure 6(b)) to go to the settings menu (see Figure 16). You can copy, delete, paste, or rename your files in your Micro SD Card, Internal Memory and USB disk.
DUAL 10 When the battery level becomes too low, a prompt comes up to notify you to charge your tablet. While charging, you can check the charging status in the lock screen (see Figure 19 (a)): Figure 19 It takes approximately 5 hours to charge your tablet to full battery. Please only use the 9V/2.5A adaptor included in the package to charge the tablet. 10. Cleaning and maintenance Clean the outside of the device using a soft cloth.
DUAL 10 12. Milieu Note! The tablet must not be disposed off as unsorted municipal waste, but must be collected separately. Note! Inquire about the disposal options in your area when you have finished using the product. Do not dispose of electrical devices, but check whether (parts of) the product can be returned, recycled or reused.
DUAL 10 13. Troubleshooting 1. Cannot turn on the tablet Check the tablet’s power level, please charge it before starting the tablet. If you still cannot turn on your tablet, try to reset it. 2. No sound coming from the earphones Check to see if the volume is turned off or is turned down to "0". Also try another earphone to make sure it is not damaged. 3. Earphone noise Check for dust in the earphone or speaker. Check to see if the music file you are playing is damaged. 4.
