Starting, Operating, and Stopping the Machine
Requirements
Machine is in serviceable condition and has been properly maintained
There is fuel in the tank
DANGER
Asphyxiation hazard. Exhaust gases contain carbon monoxide and
can kill you in minutes.
Do not start the engine in an enclosed space.
Starting the machine
Perform the steps below to start the machine.
1. Sit in the operator’s seat and fasten the seat belt.
2. Set the parking brake.
3. Set the forward/reverse control (a) in the NEUTRAL position.
Note: The roller will not start unless the forward/reverse control is in the NEUTRAL
position.
4. If the engine is cold, move the choke lever (b) to the left into the CLOSED position. If
the engine is warm, move the choke control to the right in the OPEN position.
5. Set the engine throttle (c) to the high position.
6. Turn the start key (d) to the start position until the engine starts, then release the key. If
the vibration indicator light is on, press the vibration control button. This turns off the
vibration.
NOTICE: Do not crank the engine starter for more than 15 seconds at
one time. Longer cranking cycles could lead to starter damage.
7. Move the choke lever (b) to the OPEN position as the engine warms up.
8. Set the engine throttle to the low position.
Note: Allow the engine to warm up for a few minutes before operating the roller.
