BREAKDOWNS AND SOLUTIONS
In case of a breakdown, you must:
• switch o the appliance, if possible;
• remove the plug from the socket;
• apply for a repair;
• some small problems can be resolved by the user himself, using the instrucons in the table below. Check all points in the
table in sequence, before contacng the maintenance or customer service.
Breakdown (code) Cause What to do
The metal parts in the water
reservoir show signs of rust.
The used de-scaler is not the
recommended type, this could
affect the parts in the reservoir.
Use the correct de-scaling agent.
Water is leaking from the
bottom of the appliance.
There is too much water in the
leak tray.
Empty the leak tray.
The appliance is not working
properly.
Contact the service department or customer service
department.
There is water leaking from
the lter.
There are coee residues on the
rim of the lter.
Remove the coee residues.
The coee has a sour, acidic
taste.
The appliance has not been
properly rinsed aer de-scaling.
Clean the appliance several mes, as indicated in secon
PRIOR TO FIRST USE
.
The coee used has been stored
on a warm, damp locaon, making
it unt for use.
Use fresh coee and store unused coee on a cool and dry
locaon. Properly close an opened package and store it in a
refrigerator to keep the coee fresh.
The appliance no longer works.
The plug is not properly in the
socket.
Make sure the plug is properly inserted in the wall socket.
If the appliance is sll not working, please contact the
maintenance department or customer service department .
The milk will not foam.
The aachment has not been
placed on the steam pipe.
Place the aachment on the steam pipe.
The indicator light at the steam
buon does not switch on.
The light must rst switch on before it is possible to foam milk.
The used milk container is too large
or the shape is not correct.
Use a high and narrow container.
The milk used is not correct. Use full-cream or semi-skimmed milk.
When switching on the
appliance, the indicator light
next to the coee and/or steam
buon is ashing quickly.
One or both of the buons is/are
sll pressed down.
Press the buon(s) concerned to turn them o.
When using, there are akes
coming out of the steam pipe.
The steam pipe has not been
properly cleaned.
Properly rinse the steam pipe, see secon HEATING UP
