4. Then turn the steam controller closed again (turned upwards) and press the steam buon to turn it o. Allow the appliance
to cool down and remove the plug from the socket.
Cauon! Avoid contact with the steam, this could result in personal injury!
Store the appliance on a dry locaon at a temperature that is higher than 0 °C.
DE-SCALING
Regularly de-scale your coee machine. The de-scaling intervals depend on the hardness of the mains water and the frequency
at which the coee machine is being used. We recommend de-scaling the coee machine every 2-3 months. Due to scaling,
the heang element can become obstructed. This causes overheang, as a result of which the coee machine is switched o
automacally as a safety precauon and will no longer funcon. The coee machine will have to be repaired. You can de-scale
the coee machine with a special de-scaling agent for coee machines or with kitchen grade vinegar.
If you use a special de-scaling agent for coee machines, you must observe the instrucons on the packaging of this agent.
When using kitchen grade vinegar, proceed as follows:
1. Switch o the appliance by pressing the on/o buon and remove any remaining water from the water reservoir.
2.
Fill the water reservoir with clean, cold water and cold kitchen grade vinegar up to the MAX mark. The water and kitchen
grade vinegar rao should be 4:1.
Place the lter holder with lter (without coee) back in the appliance and place a cup on
the cup grille.
3. Check that the steam controller is switched o (turned upwards) and switch on the appliance.
4. Press the coee buon when the indicator light next to the buon remains on. Allow the water to ow unl your cup is full.
Press the coee buon once more to stop the coee making process and remove the water from the cup.
5. Repeat step 4 once and then wait 5 seconds.
6. Press the steam buon and wait unl the indicator light remains on. Make steam for 2 minutes by slowly turning the steam
controller. Hold a cup under the steam pipe to collect any water that is released. Turn the steam controller upwards again
and press the steam buon once more to switch it o.
7. Switch o the appliance. Wait at least 15 minutes and then switch the appliance back on. As a result the scale will be
soened and removed.
8. Wait unl the indicator lights remain on and allow the appliance to run unl the water reservoir is empty. The de-scaling
process has been completed. Empty the cup and the removable leak tray to remove any water.
9. Aer de-scaling, allow a full reservoir of cold water to ow through the appliance at least 3 mes, to remove all de-scaling
liquid and vinegar residues and thus prevent a sour taste in the coee. Repeat all above-menoned steps, only now do not
add kitchen grade vinegar to the water. It is not necessary to wait 15 minutes at point 7.
Cauon! If the coee machine has not been used for some me, e.g. due to vacaon, it is recommended to remove and clean
all separate components. Then place the cleaned separate components back on their place and allow the coee machine to
make one run with clean water. In this way you will prevent a possible foreign taste.
