Self-cleaning function
• Usetheself-cleaningfunctionatleastonceamonth
topreventscalefromformingintheiron.
• Removetheplugfromthemainspowersocket.
• Allowtheappliancetocooldowncompletely.
• Fillthewaterreservoir,see'Fillingthewater
reservoir'.
• Setthetemperaturecontroldialto‘MAX’.
• Standtheirononitsheelonalevel,stable,heat-
resistantsurface.
• Inserttheplugintothemainspowersocket.The
temperatureindicatorwillbelit.Thetemperature
indicatorlightwillgooutoncethesettemperature
hasbeenreached.
• Removetheplugfromthemainspowersocket.
• Holdtheappliancehorizontallyaboveasinkor
(wash)basin.
• KeeptheSelf-cleanbuttondepressed.Themixof
waterandsteamwillremoveanydirtandscale.
• Carefullymovetheirontoandfro.
• Waituntilallthewaterinthereservoirhasbeen
used.
• Repeatthisprocessuntilonlycleanwatercomesout
oftheiron.
• Useadampclothtocleantheiron'shousingand
soleplate.
• Drythemwithadrycloth.
• Ifyousetthetemperaturecontroldialtoalower
setting,waituntilthetemperatureindicationlight
turnsbackon.Oncethesettemperaturehas
beenreached,thelightwillgooutandyoucan
continueironing.Thisensuresthattheappliance's
temperatureisnottoohigh.
• Forfabricsmadefrommixedfibres,adjusttheiron's
temperaturesettingforthemostdelicatefibre.
• Ifyouhavenotusedtheapplianceforanumber
ofweeks,firstcarryouttheproceduredescribedin
‘Usingforthefirsttime’.
• Ifyouareusingstarch,cleanthesoleplateeveryso
oftenwithasoft,dampclothtopreventscalebuild-
up.

downcompletely.
• Donotcleantheappliancewithanaggressiveor
abrasivecleaner,orwithasharpobjectsuchasa
hardbrushorknife.
• Emptythewaterreservoir.
• Useadampclothtocleantheiron'shousingand
soleplate.
• Drythemwithadrycloth.
• Ifrequired,cleanthesoleplatewithcleaning
vinegar.
