Setting the public key (confidential messages)*
With this feature you can prevent an unauthorized person from accessing your
private messages. You can store up to 3 alphanumeric public keys and associate
each of them to a numeric password. After setting your public keys/passwords,
you can give a public key to any one needing to send you a private message.
When you receive a message protected by a public key, the message cannot
be opened unless you enter the associated password.
To set the public key:
1. Press the MENU soft key, then press the arrow keys to choose
Favorite, then press SELECT soft key and select 3:SMS by
pressing the arrow keys. Press the SELECT soft key.
2. Press the arrow keys to choose 6:Key Settings, then press the
SELECT soft key.
3. Press the arrow keys to choose the desired Public Key memory cell,
then press the SELECT soft key.
4. Enter the alphanumeric public key you want to use and press the
SELECT soft key. You can enter up to 5 characters following the
directions stated in par. Enter a name.
5. Enter a 4-digit password to associate to the public key and press
the SELECT soft key.
6. Enter the password once again to confirm it and press the SELECT
soft key.
7. Press the
key to exit.
