Installation Guide
INSTALLATION MANUAL
INTRODUCTION
Congratulations! You have purchased your very own TIMBERWALL
design wall. Before getting started, make sure you have all the nec-
essary materials needed to carry out and complete your project.
Before installing your TIMBERWALL wood mosaic, read the instal-
lation guide carefully. To ensure proper installation and optimal re-
sults, follow all the steps outlined as well as the recommendations
regarding the materials and tools to use.
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR
OPTIMAL RESULTS:
1. Properties of the product – TIMBERWALL proudly offers products
that are made of real natural solid wood. We believe using an
all-natural product is the only way to lend authenticity to a living
space. It is important to know that TIMBERWALL wood mosa-
ic is a natural product; every piece in a box will have a unique
structure, color and texture. It is also important to know that,
like any other wood product, TIMBERWALL wood mosaic may
respond to humidity variations by expanding and contracting in
width, length and thickness. The manufacturer cannot be held
liable for any movement in the planks. Moreover, although the
small tiles are carefully glued onto the mesh backing, it is possible
that some of them may have come loose prior to installation.
Simply set these aside and glue them back on during the instal-
lation process.
2. Select the right surface for your project – TIMBERWALL wood
mosaic is suitable for indoor application only. The framework
onto which the product will be applied should be resistant to me-
chanical stress and deformation and be free of cracks. All cement,
gypsum and plaster surfaces must be primed, smooth and com-
pletely clean and dry prior to installation.
3. Temperature and indoor relative humidity – The optimal tem-
perature for installation is 21°C (70°F). Maintain indoor relative
humidity between 40% to 60% during installation.
4. Create your own personal design by mixing colors – Because each
piece varies in color and appearance, carefully mix pieces from
different boxes to ensure a blended, unique and natural custom
look.
Once you’ve finalized your design, follow the easy installa-
tion steps.

sweep the floor once your project is completed.
STEP 1
TECHNOLOGY AND MATERIALS
The technology and materials needed to install TIMBERWALL wood
mosaic were developed jointly with the Mapei company. The prod-
ucts have undergone, and successfully passed, multiple quality-con-
trol tests over the years.
Use polyurethane-based adhesive designed for three-layer board
installation to glue TIMBERWALL wood mosaic tiles. Do not use
water-based glue. TIMBERWALL recommends using Mapei Ultra-
bond P997 or equivalent. Follow Mapei’s application instructions for
optimal results.
Relative humidity during installation should be between 40% and
60%; the optimal temperature, 21°C (70°F).
STEP 2
PROJECT SITE/INSPECTION AND
CLEANING OF SURFACES
TIMBERWALL wood mosaic is suitable for indoor application only.
It can be applied to cement, drywall and plasterboard only. Plas-
ter surfaces should be primed and/or resurfaced smoothly prior to
installation. Irregularities should not exceed 1/16 inch (2 mm) per
78 ¾ inch (2 m) rack. The project site should not be exposed to
the elements, and all receiving surfaces should be completely clean
and dry.
Acclimatize the wood mosaic at a temperature between 18 and
30 Celsius ( 65F to 85F) for 72 hours in the room where it the
product will be installed. Maintain the indoor relative humidity be-
tween 40% to 60% at all time. Strip off flexible coverings, such as
wallpaper, scrape away loose paint and remove nails or anything
protruding from surfaces. Your surface should be free of dust, grease,
varnish and any loose material or debris before TIMBERWALL wood
mosaic is installed.
Remove and set aside all wall plates and baseboards. They can be
reinstalled after the TIMBERWALL wood mosaic is installed.
STEP3
APPLICATION AND INSTALLATION
Mapei Ultrabond P997 adhesive must be applied to the entire sur-
face where TIMBERWALL wood mosaic will be applied using with
a notched trowel with a 1/16-inch (2-mm) comb. Spot or stripe-
like applications are not recommended. Pieces must be selected
and blended from different boxes, aligned and pressed evenly, so all
pieces fit snugly into the adhesive mass.
For cutting tiles, use a jigsaw with small acute teeth (curved plane)
or an electrical miter saw (straight cut). Make sure your tools are
sharp. Any cut edge should be sanded with a grinder, so you can
make precise adjustments.
Take some time to admire what you have accomplished: your very
own personal wood design! Please do not hesitate to share the re-
sult with us at marketing@TIMBERWALL.co or on social media us-
ing #myTIMBERWALLproject.
DESIGNING PATTERNS AND IDEAS
It is important to know that TIMBERWALL wood mosaic is made
of real solid wood. As it is a natural product, every piece in a box
will have a unique structure, color and texture. We believe using an
all-natural product is the only way to lend authenticity to a living
space. Visit www.TIMBERWALL.co for additional design ideas.
TIMBERWALL can be installed as a full wall, a corner wall or a half
wall. Horizontal, vertical and diagonal patterns are the most com-
mon when it comes to installing pieces from the collection, but they
can also create a great design for a mirror frame, a bedframe or any
other application you can imagine. The possibilities are endless! Visit
www.TIMBERWALL.co for more inspiration.
MAINTENANCE
Clean the wood mosaic as needed using a dry cloth or feather dust-
er. If necessary, treat the surface with the same clear oil used to care
for natural parquet to keep your design looking like new.
OWNER/INSTALLER RESPONSIBILITY
All boxes are thoroughly inspected to ensure you receive only the
finest pieces we manufacture and sell. As all our products are nat-
ural, some variations in grading might occur. It is the installer’s re-
sponsibility to check the suitability of all pieces prior to installation.
A non-compliant product should not be installed. If it is installed,
it will be considered as accepted. In the highly unlikely event any
visible defects are found, you should contact your supplier immedi-
ately. Do not install pieces you suspect are defective.
Installation must be done indoors, and the temperature must be
maintained between 18° and 30°C (65° and 85°F). It is the install-
er’s responsibility to ensure that the project site is clean and suitable
and pieces correctly installed. The manufacturer and distributor ac-
cept no responsibility under normal conditions for failures due to
incorrect or inappropriate installation. TIMBERWALL has no struc-
tural properties that make it possible to hang anything directly on
the product. Keep out of reach of children.
Keep the references provided on the product packaging in case any
questions arise during or after installation.

GUIDE D’INSTALLATION
INTRODUCTION
stallation facile.
