Tohelpguideyouthroughtheshowerpaninstallationprocess,wehaveprovidedthefollowingInstallationGuide,whichisintendedto
provideaneasytofollowstepbystepprocessfortheinstallationofyourTileRedi®showerpan,whetheryouareaprofessionalorafirst
timenovice.Inconnectionwithyourshowerbaseandshowerproject,pleasecomplywiththerecommendationsandstandards
establishedforsuchprojectsfromtimetotimebytheTileCouncilofNorthAmerica,Inc.
INSTALLATIONINSTRUCTIONFORSHOWERPANWITHPVCORABSDRAIN
1. Frameoutshowerstallareatoshowerpandimensions.
2. Sweepoutanydebrisfromsubfloor.
3. Testfitshowerpandrainhousingintosubfloorborehole.
4. Makesuretheshowerpanisalignedproperlyandfitssnugglyagainsttheshowerframestudsonallsides.
5. Thisstepdependsonwhetherthereisaccesstothedrainconnectionfrombelowthesubfloor
a. Ifthereisaccessfromthesubfloorbelow,thencutasectionofdrainpipe(PVCorABS,asapplicabletothetypeofdrain)whichis
longenoughtoextendbelowthesubfloorandeasilymakeaconnectiontothewastewaterpipe.
b. Ifthereisnoaccessfromthesubfloorbelow,thenmakesurethedrainpipestubbedupfromthesubfloorisadjustedtoaheight
sufficienttofitproperlyintotheshowerpandrainconnection.
6. Turntheshowerpanoverandnotethatthereareribsundertheshowerpanfloor.Pleasemeasurethedepthoftheribsunderthe
showerpanfloorfromtheribbottomsthatrestonthesubstratetotheundersideofthepanflooratthedeepestpointinbetweenthe
ribs.Onceyouhavethatvalue,calculatethethickness(depth)ofyourmortarbase(TypeNorSMortar)usingtheformulaslisted
belowbasedonthetypeofshowerpanyoupurchased:
a. RediTrench®/WonderFallTrench™/RediFree®TrenchPans:
Subtract1/2”fromdeepestribmeasuredinStep6
b. RediBase®&RediFree®(NonTrench)/WonderDrain®Pans:(LeftorRightDrainONLY)Subtract1/4”fromdeepestribmeasured
inStep6
c. RediBase®&RediFree®(NonTrench)/WonderDrain®Pans:(CenterDrainONLY)
Subtract1/8”fromdeepestribmeasuredinstep6,PROVIDEDthemortarbaseshouldalwaysbeatleast1/2”.
Pleasenote,donotplacethemortardirectlyonawoodsubstrate.First,waterproofthewoodsubstratewithawaterproofing
membraneorNO.15orNo.30roofingpapersothewooddoesnotabsorbthewaterfromthemortar.
SpreadyourmortarbaseEVENLYACROSSTHESUBFLOORATTHETHICKNESSCALCULATEDFROMSTEP6a,6b,or6c,andoffset1“from
eachoutsideedgeofthepan.NOTE:Themortarbaseshouldhaveaconsistencyclosetopeanutbutterforbestresults.

a. Ifthereisaccessfromthesubfloorbelowandyoufollowedstep5.a.above,thenbrushPVCorABSadhesiveontheoutsideof
thecutdrainpipeandquicklyinsertintodrainconnection,andthenbesurethedrainpipeextendsfarenoughbelowthe
subfloorsoitcanbeconvenientlyconnectedtothewastewaterpipefollowingtheinstallation.
b. Ifthereisnoaccessfromthesubfloorbelowandyoufollowedstep5.b.abovethenbrushPVCorABSadhesiveonthedrain
pipestubbedupfromthesubfloor,thenquicklyinsertthestubbed‐updrainpipeproperlyintotheshowerpandrain.
8. Placethepaninthemudbaseandfirmlybutgentlyshimmythepan(applyingpressureindrainlocationfirst)intothemudso
that(i)thedrainisfullysupportedbymudattheboreholeinthesubstrate,and(ii)theribsarecompletelyfilledwiththe
mudalternatelyapplyinghandpressuretotherightandleftsidesofthepanflooruntilthepanribscomewithin1/8”
clearanceofthesubfloor.Levelallpansidesandtheletthemortardryovernight.Important:DONOTSTEPINTOTHE
SHOWERPANONCETHESHOWERPANHASBEENSETANDLEVELEDUNTILTHEMORTARHASCUREDCOMPLETELY
9. InstalltheshowerbackerboardandwaterproofinginaccordancewiththestandardsestablishedbytheTileCouncilofNorth
America,Inc.
10. Sealandwaterproofjointbetweenbackerboardandtheshowerpansplashwallswithusing100%siliconeand/ortheoptionalRedi
Flash®system.
11. Adjusttheheightofthedrainasnecessarytoaccommodatetheceramictileormarble
12. MixtheincludedapprovedRediPoxy™adhesiveandtroweltheepoxyontotheshowerpansurfaceusinga1/8”x1/8”V‐notch
trowel.
13. Tiletherestoftheshower.
