IMPORTANT: Because cordless ph ones operate on electricity, you should
have at least one phone in your h ome th at isn’t cordless, in case the power in
your h ome goes out.
IMPORTANT: In order to use all of the features of this teleph on e, you must
subscribe to two separate services available from your local teleph on e
company: the stan dard Name/ Number Caller ID Service to know who is
calling wh en th e ph on e rings and Caller ID with Call Waitin g Service to kn ow
who is calling while you are on the phone.
INSTALLATION NOTE: Some cordless telephones operate at frequen cies
that may cause interference to nearby TVs, microwave ovens, and VCRs. To
minimize or preven t such interferen ce, the base of the cordless telephone
should not be placed n ear or on top of a TV, microwave oven s, or VCR. If such
inter feren ce contin ues, move th e cordless telephone farther away from th ese
appliances. Certain other communications devices may also use the 5.8 GHz
frequen cy for communication , an d, if n ot properly set, these devices may
inter fere with each oth er an d/ or your new teleph on e. Typical devices that may
use the 5.8 GHz frequen cy for commun ication include wireless audio/ video
senders, wireless computer n etworks, multi-handset cordless telephone
systems, and some long-range cordless teleph on e systems.
DIGITAL SECURITY SYSTEM
Your cordless phone uses a digital security system to protect against false
ringing, unauthorized access, and charges to your phone line.
There is a unique digital security code programm ed in each unit. When the
base and the handset is pow ered up the first time, the handset
autom atically registers with the base ready for normal use.
NOTE : If more than on e h andset is registered with the base, registration takes
approximately one min ute.
