ENCORE PRO-HUNTER
APPENDIX CONT’D
Use & Care of the Thompson/Center Encore
Pro-Hunter “Swing Hammer” System
To make it easier to cock your Encore Pro-Hunter when a scope
is mounted, it comes with a pivoting spur hammer. The “Swing
Hammer” can be locked into a left, center or right position -
depending on your preference.
BEFORE MAKING ANY CHANGES TO THE ENCORE,
MAKE SURE THAT THE FIREARM YOU ARE WORK-
ING WITH IS UNLOADED. AN ACCIDENTAL DIS-
CHARGE MAY RESULT IN INJURY AND/OR DEATH TO THE
SHOOTER OR BYSTANDERS AND DAMAGE TO PROPERTY.
The Encore “Swing Hammer” uses one self-locking screw to hold
the spur in the position that you choose. A wrench is provided from
the factory.
• If you want to change the position of the hammer spur - and the
scope bell interferes - it may be necessary to tip the barrel open
to gain access to the locking screw.
• Loosen the locking screw by turning it counter-clockwise (as
viewed from above) until the screw either comes out completely or
it is loose enough to allow easy movement of the hammer spur.
After repositioning the hammer spur, tighten the locking screw
securely.
