Pro-Hunter Speed Breech Cont’d
Once the breech plug
has been removed, point
the muzzle up. Gravity
should then cause the
Pyrodex pellets to drop
out, or the loose powder
to pour out. The sabot or
bullet can then be
pushed out with your
ramrod - inserting the
ramrod from the muzzle.
It will be necessary to
add the extended super
jag (which came with
your rifle) to your ram-
rod, or you may use the
longer “range rod” to
push the projectile out -
if you have access to
such a rod.
To release the breech
plug from the wrench for
cleaning, push forward
on the sliding button to
raise the clip out of the
groove in the breech
plug (see FIG.8).
Proceed to clean the
breech plug, the barrel
itself and the internal
threads in the barrel’s
breech area as needed.
You can now re-install
the breech plug into the
barrel with the supplied
wrench - with the
extractor slot oriented to
the right and the align-
ment pin is oriented to
the left (as viewed from
the breech end of the
barrel) (see FIG.6).
Tighten the breech plug
into place by turning it
clockwise just 1/4 turn - at which point the extractor is aligned
with the extractor slot in the breech plug when the extractor is
tipped back into the upright position (see FIG.3).
