Assembly instructions 4 Assembly instructions ö & - . $ # % ' ( ) * + , - / You need a Phillips screwdriver (not supplied) for the assembly of the digital piano. Open the package and make sure before assembling that the entire scope of delivery is present, as posted here.
Assembly instructions Mechanical assembly 1. Set up the digital piano near a power wall outlet. 2. Proceed according to the illustrations and only use the supplied screws. Using other screws could damage the piano housing or result in a reduced stability of the piano. # $ ) ( ' ' 3. % Put the pedal box (4) between the left (2) and right (3) side panel and use two screws M6 × 40 (6) on each side to affix both side panels to the pedal box. Connection options 6 Connection options Headphones Use the [PHONES 1] and [PHONES 2] sockets to connect two headphones. Connecting headphones (not supplied) mutes the speakers. CAUTION! Possible hearing damage Using headphones for a prolonged period and at high volume can cause hearing damage. Avoid using the device at high volume, especially when using head‐ phones.
Connection options Computer via USB-MIDI You can connect the keyboard to a PC for data exchange via the USB-to-host inter‐ face. Use a current operating system still supported by the provider to avoid tech‐ nical difficulties. NOTICE! Do not set the USB-to-Host interface as the in and output at the same time in the computer software. Otherwise, there will be overlap when playing the digital piano.
Operating 7 Operating 7.1 Turning the digital piano on and off 1. Press to turn the digital piano on. ð The display shows ‘Loading.....’ . 2. Press to turn the digital piano off. To prevent damage to the speakers, turn the volume down to ‘Minimum’ ( ) before you switch the digital piano on. If the display keeps blank when you turn the digital piano on, check the power supply. 7.2 Adjusting the volume Use the rotary control [MASTER] to set a comfortable volume for playing and prac‐ tising. 1.
Operating 7.4 Split point setting Using this function you can select a point to split the whole claviature into two areas. The preset split point is on piano key [F#3]. 1. Hold down [SPLIT] and press a desired piano key that you want to be the split point. 2. Release [SPLIT] . ð The split point has been set. 7.5 Metronome 1. Switch on metronome Press [METRO] to turn the metronome on or off. ð The metronome beat can be heard. 2.
Operating 7.6 Voices 7.6.1 Selecting voices The digital piano offers 40 voices. This allows you to play a voice with your right hand. 1. Press [VOICE] to enable the Voice mode. ð The display shows the name and number of the first right hand voice (main voice Voice R1). 2. Use the rotary control to select a desired voice (see Ä Chapter 10 ‘Voice list’ on page 34). 3. Press [VOICE DEMO] to play the selected voice as a demo.
Operating 7.6.3 Split mode With Split mode, you can assign different voices to certain keyboard areas. The preset split point is on piano key [F#3]. 1. If desired, individually specify the split point as described under Ä Chapter 7.4 ‘Split point setting’ on page 18. 2. Assign the right hand voice as described under Ä Chapter 7.6.2 ‘Dual mode’ on page 19. 3. Press [SPLIT] to activate the split mode. 4.
Operating 7.6.5 TWINOVA In TWINOVA mode, the keyboard is divided into two areas with the same voice and the same pitch to enable 4-handed playing, for example in class. The preset split point is on piano key [F#4]. If desired, individually specify the split point as described under Ä Chapter 7.4 ‘Split point setting’ on page 18. 1. Operating 7.7.2 Playing songs off a USB flash drive The digital piano detects USB flash drives (USB stick) in the FAT 32 format that are not partitioned. The digital piano supports USB flash drives (USB stick) between 2 GB and 128 GB in size. 1. Connect a USB flash drive (USB stick) to the USB port [TO DEVICE]. 2. Press [USB] to call up the root directory of the USB flash drive. ð The display shows the names of the MP3 or SMF MIDI files. 3. Use the rotary control to select a desired song. 4.
Operating 4. Press [LEFT] (NO) to stop the recording. 5. Press [RIGHT] (YES) to overwrite the existing user song. ð ‘REC’ is flashing in the display. 6. Press [START / STOP] or play the keyboard to start recording. 7. Press [START / STOP] or [REC] again to stop recording. ð The recording will be saved to the selected location for the user song. Operating 7.8.2 Octave shift With this function you can shift the octaves of the Voice R1, Voice R2 and Voice L parts up and down one octave independently of each other. 1. Press repeatedly [FUNCTION] and select ‘OCTAVE R1’ , ‘OCTAVE R2’ or ‘OCTAVE L’ for the desired part you want to octave. Alternatively, hold down [FUNCTION] and use the rotary control to select ‘OCTAVE R1’ , ‘OCTAVE R2’ or ‘OCTAVE L’ . 2. Use the rotary control to move the octave of the selected part up or down. 7.8.
Operating 7.8.4 Volume With this function you can adjust the volume of the Voice R1, Voice R2 and Voice L parts as well as the volume of the songs being played. 1. Press repeatedly [FUNCTION] and select ‘VOLUME R1’ , ‘VOLUME R2’ , ‘VOLUME L’ or ‘VOLUME MUSIC’ . Alternatively, hold down [FUNCTION] and use the rotary control to select ‘VOLUME R1’ , ‘VOLUME R2’ , ‘VOLUME L’ or ‘VOLUME MUSIC’ . 2. Connect a microphone to the connector socket [AUX IN / MIC IN] and set the slide switch [MIC / AUX IN] to [MIC]. 1. Press repeatedly [FUNCTION] and select ‘MIC FX TYPE’ . Troubleshooting 9 Troubleshooting Problem Possible causes and solutions You hear a 'pop' sound from the speakers when switching the digital piano on and off. This is normal. No reason for concern. No sound can be heard when playing the piano. Make sure that the volume control is set appropriately. The volume of the individual parts Voice R1, Voice R2 and Voice L may be set too low.
