Operating the refrigerator in high ambient temperatures can over heat the cooling unit and cause premature
failu r e of the compressor (See the label inside the refrigerator).
To protect the cooling unit from ove r heating, the ref r igerator will automatically shut-off when the temperatu r e of
the powe r module is higher than100 ° C (212 ° F ). The r efrigerato r will not resta r t until the temperatu re of the
power module is lowe r than 80 ° C (176 ° F ) .

In order to p r event completely draining the batte r y, the r e fr igerator will automatically shut-off when the DC
supply voltage becomes too low. The refrigerator will not resta r t until the DC supply voltages increases. These
shut-o ff and restart voltage levels are:
12VDC Ope r ation 24 VDC Operation
Shut-off 10.4 VDC Shut-off 22.7 VDC
Restart 11.6 VDC Restart 24.0 VDC
If the DC supply voltage is between 17 and 22.7 VDC, the r efrigerator will not operate.

Y ou r r efrigerator has an over cu rr ent protection system in the electronic ci r cuit to prevent damage to the
inverter which may occur due to a reverse pola r ity connection.
If the refrigerator does not operate and the green power light does not come on, check the fuse, which is
located in-line with the DC connector, and the polarity of the DC power supply. If the refrigerator still does not
operate, another problem can exist in the power module. Have an authorized THETFORD Service Cent r e

Have an authorized THETFORD Service Cent r e do these annual safety and maintenance checks:
- Make sure the DC voltages a r e correct (See the Electrical cu rr ent necessary section).
- The wi r e connections must be clean, tight and f r ee of corrosion. If any of these items are not correct:
- A voltage drop to the ref r igerato r will occu r.
- The voltage drop will decrease the cooling pe rf ormance of the r ef r igerator.

When the ambient temperature is between 21 ° C (70 ° F ) and 32 ° C (90 ° F ) keep the
thermostat at the 3 position to avoid an excessive drain of the battery. When making ice, or
storing frozen foods, turn the thermostat to the coldest setting 5 .
