The Solar Power PaQ 2400
Provides the essential Solar electrical cables, Over Current
Protection, shut offs grounding lugs and labels required to meet
(NEC)National Electrical Code in most states, to properly and
safely install one to twenty four Solar PaQs containing a Solar
Panel, racking system and Microinverter.
The Solar PaQ 2400 includes:
1 SolaDeck Roof Mount Pass Through Box
1 Set of Base Combiners with Busbars
1 Midnight Solar Combiner Box (Circuit Breakers)
3 240 AC Breakers for Midnight Solar
1 Ground Level Shut-Off Box
3 30 Amp Fuses for Ground Shut Off
3 End Wire Mounts
3 NEP Inverter Wires
3 NEP Inverter End Caps
6 Grounding Lugs
1NEP Gateway Monitor
1 Label Package for NEC Component Identifiers
The Solar Power PaQ 2400 provides Electrical Balance of System or BOS components. An addition to the Solar Panels,
Inverters and the RaQing System purchased as the Solar PaQ, for a safe, proper and efficient transfer of the power into
the home.
We strongly suggest you consult or hire a licensed electrician for proper installation of this
equipment.
The Power PaQ 2400 provides 3 Electrical Boxes for transfer of the Solar Power to the home breaker panel. Some
components may not be needed. Additional components may be required to meet local electrical or building codes.
Several components may serve more than one function.
A SolaDeck Roof Mount Pass Through Box: serves two purposes: it allows for the transition of wires with or
without conduit and provides a secure mount on the roof, through the shingles allowing the wiring into the structures
attic area and secure the roof from leakage.
A Solar Combiner Box specific to the PV industry and serves three purposes: transition to conduit (if not
provided by the pass-through box), over current protection (OCP) with circuit breakers provided, and
combining the strings of panels into parallel arrays.
Finally, The Master Ground Level Disconnect-Shut off with fuses or breakers providing fire and electrical safety.
A grid tied solar array or a solar array connecting to the local Utility’s grid, usually requires manual and automatic shut
offs for the solar array, to prevent the back feed of power into the grid, to protect the line workers during an event of
downed power lines, In addition the fire department requires a way to shut off the power in the event of a fire or for
standard maintenance on the solar array.
