3IT Guide: Access ConnectMail using Entourage or Mail for Macs

Choose 3. Exchange from the Account type drop down list and click OK.
In the 4. Edit Account window, click the Account Settings tab.
In the 5. Account name eld, type ConnectMail.
In the 6. Name eld, enter your First Name and Last Name.
In the 7. Email Address eld, type your full Kent email address, for example: [e-mail]
In the 8. Authentication section enter your Kent username in the Account ID eld and UKC in the Domain
eld, then enter your Kent IT account password.
Click the 9. Advanced tab:
in the L Exchange Server eld, enter: https://rpc.connect.kent.ac.uk/EWS/Exchange.asmx
tick the box: L This server requires a secure connection (SSL).
in the L LDAP server eld, enter ad.kent.ac.uk.
tick the box: L This server requires me to log in.
tick the box: L This LDAP server requires a secure connection (SSL).
Click 10. OK to save the settings and return to Entourage.
When Entourage runs for the rst time, it synchronizes with ConnectMail, this can take a while; to view the
progress, click the Window menu and click Progress.
If Entourage 2008 displays an error message about being unable to validate the LDAP server (this is used for
looking up staff email addresses), this can be xed by downloading and installing a validation certicate from:
www.kent.ac.uk/itservices/email/connect/downloads/Computing Service Root CA.cer.zip

If the following message appears in Entourage 2008 Web Services Edition: Do you want to allow https://
autodiscover.kent.ac.uk/autodiscover/discover.xml access to this computer with options to allow or deny, click
Allow.
Setup Entourage 2008
From the menu, click1. Entourage, then Account Settings or Tools, then Accounts.
Click 2. New and click the Congure Account Manually button in the Account Setup Assistant.
Select 3. Exchange from the Account type drop down list (in the New Account window) and click OK.
In the 4. Edit Account window type the following details:
under the L Account settings tab:
Account name: M ConnectMail
Name: M your full name
Email address: M [e-mail] (eg [e-mail], replacing abc1 with your own
username)
Account ID: M your Kent IT account username (eg abc1)
Domain: M UKC
Password: M your Kent IT account password
Exchange server: M ent.connect.kent.ac.uk/exchange/username
(replacing username with your Kent IT account username)
