Getting started
Combined sensor
y Mount the combined sensor (Fig.1-E) on the adjustable base (Fig.1-H).
Tighten the two screws (Fig.1-F).
y Open the battery compartment at the bottom of the device (Fig.1-G) and insert three new
batteries 1,5 V AA, polarity as illustrated.
y Close the battery compartment.
y With the solar panel (Fig.1-B) the battery life will be extended.
y The LED signal light (Fig.1-C) is ashing.
y Take the base station into operation according to the instruction manual of the base station or
proceed according to “Add additional transmitters” in the Quick set-up guide.
Installation
Positioning of the rain sensor
y Make sure that the wind can blow freely around the combined sensor and is not blocked by
nearby buildings, trees or any other objects.
y For best results, we recommend mounting the combined sensor on a mast, ideally 3 metres
above any obstructions.
y Try to install the combined sensor so that it will be exposed to the normal wind conditions in
your area.
y Attach the delivered adjustable base (Fig.1-H) to a mast
(ø 25-28mm). Matching metal brackets and nuts are
included in the scope of delivery.
y The adjustable base can also be attached to a surface.
First screw the base in the desired position with the four
screws (Fig.1-K). The adjustable base may be rotated by
90°/180°. Open the xing screw (Fig.1-J) and loosen
the adjustable base (Fig.1-H). Turn it in the desired position and tighten the xing screw again.
y Make sure that the adjustable base is securely fastened.
y Then place the combined sensor on the adjustable base (Fig.1-E) and x it with
the screws (Fig.1-F).
y The wind wheel points upwards and the wind vane downwards.
y Ensure the combined sensor is mounted level with the solar panel (Fig.1-B) facing directly to
the South. This will help optimize battery life and transmit correct wind direction.
Use a compass if necessary.
Care and maintenance
y Clean the device with a soft damp cloth. Do not use solvents or scouring agents.
y Make sure that the wind cups and the vane can spin freely and are free from dirt,
debris or spider webs.
y Remove the batteries if you do not use the device for a long period of time.
Battery replacement
y As soon as the corresponding battery symbol appears in the display of the weather
station or in the device information of the VIEW App, please change the batteries of
the combined sensor.
