Connect the USB-TO-GPIO adapter to your PC using the supplied USB cable. Connect the
TPS61050/2EVM connector J5 to the USB-TO-GPIO adapter using the supplied 10-pin ribbon cable. The
connectors on the ribbon cable are keyed to prevent incorrect installation.
Connect at least a 2-A rated input power supply set to provide between 2.5 V and 6.0 V output to J2 and
J3. The leads should be very short. Additional input capacitance may be required in order to mitigate the
inductive voltage droop that occurs at torch current start up and especially when the flash pulse occurs
(see figures 5 and 6). Turn on the power supply.
WARNING: This EVM has a white LED that flashes very brightly. Protective eye wear and/or a diffuser to
cover the white LED during operation is recommended.
