The output ripple voltage measured at the output test points (TP3 and TP4 or TP18 and TP19) will include
some high-frequency switch edge noise and offsets due to the ground loop area in this measurement. See
Figure 8 . A more accurate measurement of the output ripple can be taken by soldering a bare wire directly
to the output capacitor (C5 or C17) and connecting this wire directly to the ground barrel of the
oscilloscope probe. This produces truer oscillograms of the output ripple. See Figure 9 .
