First Steps
Before beginning these sample problems, follow the steps on this page to reset
the TI

82 to its factory settings. (Resetting the TI

82 erases all previously entered
data.) This ensures that following the keystrokes in this section produces the
illustrated actions.
1. Press

5. After a reset, the display contrast is also reset. If
the screen is very dark or blank, you need to
adjust the display contrast. Press

(to make the display darker). You can
