8. Align the screw holes in the back cover with those in the calculator,
then snap the back cover onto the calculator. Replace the screws.
Battery Precautions
• Do not leave batteries within the reach of children.
• Do not mix new and used batteries. Do not mix brands (or types
within brands) of batteries.
• Do not mix rechargeable and nonrechargeable batteries.
• Install batteries according to polarity (+ and –) diagrams.
• Do not place nonrechargeable batteries in a battery recharger.
• Properly dispose of used batteries immediately.
• Do not incinerate or dismantle batteries.
In Case of Difficulty
Use this list of possible solutions to difficulties you might encounter with
the calculator to determine if you can correct a problem before having to
return it for service.
Difficulty Solution
The calculator computes
wrong answers.
Check the settings of the current
worksheet to make sure they are
correct for the problem you are
working; for example, in the TVM
worksheet, check
END and BGN and be
sure the unused variable is set to zero.
The display is blank; digits do
not appear.
Select the worksheet again. Be sure the
battery is properly installed and
replace, if necessary.
