supportandmore.TheCC3120MODmoduleBoosterPackcanbeusedinseveralways.Itcanbe
connectedtoaTexasInstruments™
MCULaunchpad™developmentkit(softwareexamplesprovidedfor
MSP‐EXP430F5529LP).ItcanalsobepluggedintoaCC31XXEMUBOOSTboardandconne ctedtoaPCfor
MCUemulation.Finally,thedevicecanbeconnectedontoanadapterboard(BOOST‐CCEMADAPTER),
allowingcustomerstousetheBOOSTXL‐CC3120MOD devicewithadditionalplatforms
beyondTI
Launchpadkits.
Note: TheCC31XXEMUBOOSTde vice is an advancedemulationboardthatisrequiredfor
flashingtheBOOSTXL‐CC3120MOD,usingtheradiotool(radioperformancetesting
orputtingintocertificationmodules),capturingnetworkprocessorlogs,andusingSL
studio.

TheboardisdesignedtoacceptpowerfromaconnectedLaunchPadkitorthroughthe
CC31XXEMUBOOSTboard.SomeoftheLaunchPadkitsarenotcapableofsourcing thepeak current
requirementsofWi‐Fi,whichmaybeashighas400mA.IftheLaunchPadkitcannotsourcethepeak
current
requirementsofWi‐Fi,theUSBconnectorontheBOOSTXL‐CC3120RMcanbeusedtoaidthe
peakcurrent.TheuseofSchottkydiodesensuresthattheloadsharinghappensbetweentheUSB
connectorsontheLaunchPadkitandtheBoosterPackmodulewithoutanyboard modifi cations.Also,
the3.3‐V
powercanbesourcedfromtheLa unchPadkitorfromthe3.3‐VLDOontheboard.This
sourcingiscompletedbyusingjumperJ8.IftheLaunchPadkitisnotabletosourcethe3.3Vupto350
mA,thenJ8mustbeconfiguredtoworkfromtheonboard
LDO.
