Evaluating Performance with the ADCPro Software
8.1.2 Interrupts Tab
The second tab of the ADS7924EVM plug-in is the Interrupts tab. This tab corresponds primarily to the
Interrupt CONFIG Register of the ADS7924. A set of pushbuttons are used to control the bit selections
within this register. The Interrupts tab is shown in Figure 16.
Figure 16. Interrupts Tab
The BUSY/INT Select allows the user to generate an interrupt or a BUSY signal. The Edge/Level INT can
be programmed to either be level-triggered or edge-triggered. The INT Polarity can be set to be either
active low or active high. ALARM/ADC Data Ready is used to program the pin to generate an interrupt on
an alarm or as the ADC data are ready.
The User-programmed Counter (three bits) programs a count from 0 to 7. This function is a programmable
global alarm threshold to filter false alarms.
When the INT pin is programmed as the ADC data ready, the interrupt can be programmed to be
generated after a conversion is complete from any channel or after the last converted channel in scan
mode.
Delay on INT corresponds to a bit in the Sleep Control Register of the ADS7924. This bit controls whether
the conversions continue independently of alarms and the conversion overwrites previous data, or if future
conversions are stopped until the interrupt is cleared.
