Introduction
The BOOST-CC2541S is a CC2541S
BoosterPack development kit for the Texas
Instrument LaunchPad boards, such as
MSP430, Stellaris
®
and C2000. More
information about the LaunchPad is found at
www.ti.com/LaunchPad.
This document will guide you through the initial
steps required in order to run the pre programmed
Bluetooth® low energy Weather Station demo
application.
CC2541S Boosterpack
The CC2541S is a Wireless Network Processor
(WNP) and adds Bluetooth low energy support to
a system. The WNP includes a complete
Bluetooth low energy Host and Controller software
stack which is accessed by a Host Controller
Interface (HCI) protocol. The HCI protocol can be
accessed over either UART or SPI.
The CC2541S is hosted on a BoosterPack board
together with a Texas Instruments IR
Temperature sensor, TMP006.
The CC2541S BoosterPack supply voltage should
be between 2.2V (TMP006 minimum) and 3.6V
(CC2541S maximum).
Weather Station Demo
The Weather Station demo application runs from
a MSP430G2553 processor on a Texas
Instruments LaunchPad (MSP-EXP430G2). The
application uses the WNP to enable a connection
with a Bluetooth low energy SMART Ready
device and transmit temperature data from the
TMP006.
Hardware Setup
Attach the CC2541S BoosterPack onto the
LaunchPad as follows:
