Troubleshooting
The following advice should help you to solve problems. If this does not help, you will find useful information in the
detailed FAQs on our website. Otherwise, please contact our hotline (see page 3). Take note of the warranty
instructions.
Problem Possible cause Solution
No function. No power supply. Check the function of the socket with another
device.
No sound. The wrong source has been
selected.
Select the correct source (see “Selecting a
source” on page 12).
The volume has been set too low. Increase the volume.
The volume of the external player
has been set too low.
Carefully increase the volume of the external
player.
Speaker cable not stripped. Properly connect the passive speaker
(page10).
No sound with Blue-
tooth
®

No Bluetooth
®
connection. Establish a connection (see page 17).
ULTIMA 40 ACTIVE NG has not
been selected as the output
device.
On the external player, select “ULTIMA 40 Aktiv”
as the Bluetooth
®
output device.
Bluetooth
®
connection impaired
by another radio system (e.g. cord-
less telephone, Wi-Fi).
Set up the ULTIMA 40 ACTIVE NG and/or
external player in another location. Move to
another room to test.
No sound is emitted via
HDMI.
An incorrect HDMI connection has
been selected on the TV set.
Use the HDMI jack with the ARC function on the
TV set (see the user manual of the TV set).
CEC and/or ARC have not been
activated on the TV set.
Activate HDMI CEC and HDMI ARC on the TV set.
Incorrect audio codec has been
selected.
On the TV set, set the audio format to “PCM”.
No sound from the rear
speakers.
In stereo playback, there is no
signal for the rear speakers.
Turn on „Upmix“ (see page 15) to have the
system generate the signals for the rear
speakers.
No automatic activation/
deactivation via HDMI.
CEC is not activated or incorrectly
configured on the TV set.
Activate HDMI CEC on the TV set and configure it
(see the user manual for the TV set).
Unwanted switching on
via Bluetooth
®
.
When a Bluetooth
®
connection is
established, key clicks and other
system sounds are also trans-
ferred from the smartphone to the
speaker, which may cause them to
be turned on.
Switch off the Bluetooth
®
function on the smart-
phone or deactivate the AutoOn function for
Bluetooth
®
on the ULTIMA 40 ACTIVE NG (see
page 15).
Playback is noisy.
Generally speaking, the speakers
are very low noise. In the high
range area, very high-resolution
speaker systems can expose the
poor quality of a signal source (e.g.
from MP3 files).
Make sure that the source is emitting a clear
signal.
The sound seems dull. Speakers have been connected
with incorrect polarity.
Check to make sure that the passive speaker is
correctly connected (page10).
