The FWP shall store that PIN and automatically enter it whenever the PIN

is required so that the user does not have to enter it manually.

VI. Personalization

From Menu, select Phone Settings>Security>Personalization

Personalization features check information stored in the FWP with that

stored in the SIM.

The check is performed whenever a SIM is inserted into the FWP, or the

FWP is powered up with a SIM in place.

If a check fails, the FWP enters the “non-registered service” state in which

only emergency calls can be attempted.

FWP will support ﬁ ve lock types and user can lock, unlock, check the

status and change the password of all ﬁ ve lock types via menu item.

i. Network : allows the network operator to personalize the FWP so that it

can only be used with that particular network operator’s SIMs.

ii. Network subset personalization : a reﬁ nement of network personaliza-

tion, which allows the network operator to limit usage of the FWP to a

subset of SIMs.

iii.Service Provider (SP) : allows the service provider to personalize the

FWP so that it may only be used with that particular service provider’s

SIMs.

iv. Corporate : allows a corporate customer to personalize the FWP for his

employees or customers so that it can only be used with the company’s

own SIMs.

v. Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) : enables the user (network operator,

service provider, manufacturer or user/owner) to personalize the FWP so

that it may only be used with a particular SIM.
