Battery Backup
How to Install Battery
1) Remove the battery access door screw located on the bottom of the unit.
2) Press the battery access door tabs and remove the battery access door.
3) Install 4 AA batteries
4) Reinstall the battery access door using the screw
5) Turn the AC/Battery switch to battery operation
**The SX5D does not support rechargeable batteries
Battery Operation
The unit will automatically switch from AC to battery upon loss of AC power. A fully charged bat-
tery will provide up to two hours of talk time and 72 hours of standby. Total charging time is 15
hours.

SX5 to AC Power
1) Connect the barrel connector of the power supply to the AC power input on the rear panel of
the SX5D - see Figure .
2) Plug the power supply into the AC wall socket. The unit will power-up automatically.
3) Check the cellular signal strength and move the unit (or external antenna) until you achieve
the best signal possible - see the Received Signal Strength section of this manual.
