One-key dialling
Hold the position number key (from 1 to 9) down, that relates to the position in which the
telephone number was stored in the phone book. The display will read Call and, where
stored, the name of the person being called will also be displayed.
Sending DTMF tones
DTMF multi-frequency signals allow you to communicate with answering machines, com-
puterised telephone systems, etc.. Inserting pauses and waits in selecting DTMF tones is
therefore useful for gaining access to certain services.
The DTMF tones are active (unless deactivated using
'
) and may be sent
as explained below.
Where invalid sequences are sent, the display will read Wrong Input.
When making a call containing pauses and/or waits, it is possible to end the transmission
of DTMF tones by pressing
-
or
+
.
If the DTMF tones have been deactivated a DTMF sequence can be emitted by pressing
'
, scrolling using
'
, and confirming Send DTMF by pressing
,
.
After entering at least one number, to enter tone pauses and/or waits, press the
.
key
in quick succession. The display will first show the symbol P (pause) and then W (wait).
Where the
/
and
.
keys are used to scroll up and down or to the left and right, P is
entered by pressing the 7 key in quick succession. W is entered by pressing 9 in quick
succession.
It is possible to emit a sequence of DTMF tones before making a call. Enter the tele-
phone number, then the symbol P followed by the DTMF sequence.
Once completed, dialling can follow immediately or be stored in the usual way.
NOTE: Waits always continue until
,
is pressed before proceeding.
Pauses proceed automatically after 3 seconds.
Pauses and waits cannot be set at the beginning of a number.
The P command cannot be inserted in succession.
Storing of pauses and waits depends on the SIM card used. Not all cards are enabled to
offer these features.
