PIN and PIN 2 codes (from 4 to 8 digits)
The PIN code (Personal Identity Number) is a private numeric password that is provided
by the network operator or service provider along with the SIM card, and serves to protect
the telephone against unauthorised use.
When the display shows a message requesting the PIN, key it in and press

If an incorrect PIN is inserted three times in succession, the SIM card is blocked, and
cannot be used any more.
The PUK code must be keyed in to set a new PIN and to unblock the SIM card.
The PIN 2 code, which is provided by the network operator or service provider, is re-
quired to gain access to certain protected services and features (FDN, unit counters,
etc.), that have to be supported by the SIM card.
Deactivating and activating the PIN code
When the PIN code is activated, the telephone asks for it to be keyed in each time it is
switched on. To avoid the PIN being requested on switching on the telephone, press the
following keys in sequence:

PUK and PUK 2 codes (8 digits)
The PUK Code (Personal Unblocking Key) is provided by the network operator or service
provider along with the SIM card, and is required for unblocking locked SIM cards.
The PUK 2 Code is only provided with some SIM cards and is required for changing or
unlocking PIN 2 Codes.

Password to bar calls
This 4-digit password is only required by the network service to bar calls. It is provided by
the network operator or service provider at the time of subscribing to the service.
