The maximum current that can be drained from the ON* pad is 0,1 mA. Whenever this signal is pulled low, the GE864-QUAD Automotive V2 is reset. When the device is reset it stops any operation. After the release of the reset GE864-QUAD Automotive V2 is unconditionally shut down, without doing any detach operation from the network where it is registered.

Another level adapting method could be done using a standard RS232 Transceiver (MAX3237EAI) adding some resistors to adapt the levels on the GE865 Input lines. NOTE: In this case has to be taken in account the length of the lines on the application to avoid problems in case of High-speed rates on RS232.
