IT9/EMS menu
Press while writing a message to access the T9/EMS menu; it lets you:
insert special characters (punctuation, currency symbols, etc); you can select
them in a table you can access by selecting “Add symbol
switch input method: “Input method” (ABC, T9, 123)
insert graphics or audio in the message - "Insert Obj.
change the font dimension or apply special text formats (bold, italic,
underlined
) - “Format text”
Change the T9 dictionary to write text in another language - "Language"
Read the T9 help guide - "Help
When you insert an object into the message, an icon representing it appears in
the text editor and a certain number of text characters are used up in the
process. There is an indicator in the lower right-hand portion of the screen that
tells you how many characters are left.
There are two kinds of EMS items....
Specifically, Predefined items and User-defined items.
In the first case, the items are sent from one phone to another using standard
EMS defined codes. This option takes up less message space, but the items
are displayed by the recipient's phone according to its own settings.
User-defined items are not standard EMS encoded, and are sent in their
entirety. This means more message space is taken up; however, unlike above,
what is displayed is the original item.
How to send the message you have written
When you have finished writing the message, press
Enter the phone number of the person you want to send it to, and press ;
choose one of the following menu options:
Preview message (available when at least one EMS item is inserted)
Send: the message
Store the message
Send & Store il messaggio
Parameter profiles allows you to use for the current message a specific
profiles, different from the default (see “Setting the SMS parameters” on
page 22)
