1. SelectStopunderRecordontheMenuBar

Note:ThemanualStopRecordingfeatureisprimarilyofusewhenrecordinglow‐speedtraffic,which
cantakealongtimetofilltherecordingbuffer.
Note:DisconnectionofUSBorEthernetduringcaptureoruploadingoftracedataisnotsupported,
andmaycausethesoftwaretomalfunctionorcrash.
Whentherecordingsessionisfinished,thebustrafficissavedtotheharddriveasafile
nameddata.usborwhatevernameyouassignasthedefaultfilename.
Tosaveacurrentrecordingforfuturereference:
1. SelectSaveAsunderFileontheMenuBar.
OR
Click ontheToolBar.
YouseethestandardSaveAsscreen.
2. Givetherecordingauniquenameandsaveittotheappropriatedirectory.
5.13 Merging Trace Files
ItispossibletomergeaClassic‐SpeedtracefilewithaHi‐SpeedtracefileusingtheMerge
TraceFilecommandundertheFilemenu.Thisoptiononlyworkswithfilesthatwere
createdsimultaneouslythroughasinglerecordingsession.Ifthefileswererecorded
duringseparaterecordingsessions,thesystemgeneratesanerrormessageandprevents
themergefromcompleting.
Note:ThesystemcanmergingHighSpeedandClassicSpeedstrafficintoasinglemergedfileifthe
Auto‐Merge2ChannelTraceFilesoptionischeckedintheRecordingOptionsdialogbox.
Tomergetwotracefiles:
1. SelectFile>MergeTraceFilestodisplayadialogboxaskingforthefirstsourcefile
(seeFigure 5.62onpage 306).
