Minimizing Risk of RF Burn (probe leads)
WARNING. To avoid personal injury, do not handle the probe leads
when the leads are connected to a source that is above the voltage
and frequency li mits given in Figure 2 on page 11. The area above
these limits poses a risk of radio fre quency (RF) burns.
If you need to use the probe within the risk area for RF burn, power
down the source before conne cting or disconnecting the probe leads.
Maximum Input Limits
CAUTION. To avoid damaging the input circuitry of the P 5205 probe,
do not apply a volt age that is more than 1,000 V
RMS
CAT II between
either input and ground or more than 1,300 V (DC + peak AC)
between the two inputs. Above 3 MHz, the voltage limit decreases as
frequency inc reases. See Figure 2 on page 11. The input limit appli es
to both the 50X and 500X settings.
