Inductance Measurements
You can use the current probe to measure the inductance of coils that have either a low-impedance or high-impe dance pulse
source of a known value.
Low-Impedance Pulse Sources
This figure shows a constant-voltage pulse
generator of extremely low output im pedance
connected to an inductor that has low
resistance.
1. Connect the inductor across the output
terminals of the pulse g enerator.
2. Maintain a constant voltage across the
inductor.
3. Clamp the current p robe over on e of the
source leads.
NOTE. If the probe impedance is a significant
part of the total circuit indu ctance, measuremen t
accuracy will be affected. Refer to the probe
specifications for probe insertion impedance.
