H A123 — and B123 — When COMPOSITE is se-

lected, the instrument’s internal reference is the

input channel currently selected for display. For

COMPONENT, the internal reference is A1 when A123

is selected, and B1 when B123 is selected (sync is

present only on the first channel).

VECTOR

H BARS — The instrument can be configured to accept

75% or 100% amplitude color bar signals. Dual-

Standard instruments a llow color bar signal ampli-

tudes to be set for NTSC and for PAL operation.

SETUP — (NTSC operation only) Configures t he

instrument to accept signals with or without setup.

PAL — (PAL operation only) When +V is chosen,

the phase reference of the --V lines is inverted, then

shown as an ove rlay on the +V lines to provide a

comparison display. +V shows +V and --V on

alternate lines.

TEST — Used by service pe rsonnel; refer to the

service manual.

FORMAT

H CONFIG—FORMAT is used to to select the configura-

tion of signal s used for interconnection of equi p-

ment. Ava ilable signal formats are:

GBR, SMPTE/

EBU

, BETA, and MII. When viewed as a waveform

parade display, GBR signals ma y be displayed in

either GBR sequence or RGB seque nce, as selected

through the

GBR PARADE GBR/RGB m enu.

Table 3-1 shows valid format sel ections.

CONFIG—FORMAT is also used to select which

display

(LIGHTNING or DIAMOND) is present when

the front-panel

LIGHTNING button is pressed.
