3. Adjust the probe range and scope channel as necessary to get a
clear view of the signal.
The current dra wn by some devices will look much different than
that of others. Whil e t he RMS c urrent may be low, the m omentary
peaks may be quite high. Figure 2 shows the difference between the
line current drawn by a resistive loa d and a motor controller.
