2. System Overview
Functions
There are five buttons and a magnetic senor on the call box. An external handset with a call button
can be connected to the call box. The five buttons on the call box are:
1. Staff Emergency
2. Call
3. Round
4. Check-in
5. Reset
There are two Reset functions:
1. Normal reset (0x0C) activated by press the Reset button
2. Handset Removal Reset (0x5C) activated by pressing the Reset button for 5s
The two functions activated by placing a magnet on the Reset button are:
1. Reset (place a magnet on the Reset button and remove from the Reset button)
2. Survey (placing a magnet on the Reset button and then press the Call button)
The other functions not activated by buttons are:
1. Handset Removal
2. Handset Plug-in
3. Tracking (enable or disable by flash programming or optional EEPROM)
4. Low Battery Voltage
Priority
While a function is being operated, the system ignores the lower priority conditions. For example,
during a Staff Emergency Call is being operated, pressing the Call or the Round button does not have
any effect. The Reset is a special function. Pressing the Reset button immediately overwrites any
function being operated (except Handset Removal and Handset Plug-in functions). However, while
the Reset function is being operated, it will be over-taken by any key pressing actions but not the
Handset Removal, Handset Plug-in, Low Battery Voltage, or the Track code. The priority is listed
below with the Staff Emergency Call as the highest priority function:
1. Staff Emergency Call
2. Call
3. Handset Removal
4. Handset Plug-in
5. Check-in
6. Rounding and Survey (equal priority)
7. Low Battery Voltage / Track Code
