FieldPilot® PREPARATION 1. Before beginning the installation, thoroughly clean the vehicle to remove dirt and contaminants that might get into the hydraulic circuit. 2. Park the vehicle on a clean, level floor with adequate clearance to work around. 3. Do not attempt to loosen any hydraulic fittings while the engine is running. 4. Allow the motor and the hydraulics to cool until it is no more than warm to the touch before proceeding. 5.

FieldPilot® Installation If there are questions concerning the installation of the FieldPilot system on this vehicle, or due to the changes in component specifications the parts supplied in the kit are not exactly as presented in this document, please contact your dealer or TeeJet Customer service representative for clarification before installation. TeeJet Technologies is not responsible for misuse or incorrect installation of the system.
FieldPilot® 2. Install Mounting Bracket Locate the bolt as illustrated in Figure 1-3 and mount the bracket. The bolt is located under the machine to the left side next to where cables and hoses are run. A washer may be needed. Figure 1-3: Mount the FieldPilot Valve Bracket Mount here Mount here 3. Install FieldPilot Valve Using the hardware provided (B, F, G) attach the prepared FieldPilot valve to the mounting bracket (H) in the orientation shown. FieldPilot® 4. Install Pressure and Tank Hoses The Pressure and Tank hoses will run from the FieldPilot valve to the boost valve block on the machine. Disconnect the Pressure and Tank lines from the Boost Valve block and install the run tees (S). Reconnect the lines to the run of the tees. Install hose (L) from the P port on the FieldPilot valve to the branch of the run tee as illustrated. Install hose (K) from the T port on the FieldPilot valve to the branch of the run tee as illustrated.
FieldPilot® J J I 6. Prepare the shuttle tee Install adapters (Q) in the two side ports of the shuttle tee (O). Install adapter (R) in the top port of the shuttle tee. Once the hoses are attached and tightened to the shuttle tee, it will be tied down with the tie straps (provided). Figure 1-7: Prepare the Shuttle Tee R Q O Q www.teejet.
FieldPilot® 7. Install load Sense HoseS John Deere 4710 Locate the priority valve on the left side of the machine. Follow the hose indicated in the photograph and disconnect it from the load sense jam valve and shuttle. Connect this hose to one side of the shuttle tee. Connect hose (N) to the 90° adapter on the top of the shuttle and route it to the open port on the load sense jam valve and shuttle. Connect hose (M) to the other side of the shuttle and route it to the LS port on the FieldPilot valve.
FieldPilot® John Deere 4720 Locate the priority valve on the left side of the machine. Follow the hose indicated in the photograph and disconnect it from the valve block located in the middle underneath the machine. Connect this hose to one side of the shuttle tee. Connect hose (N) to the 90° adapter on the top of the shuttle and route it to the open port on the load sense jam valve and shuttle. Connect hose (M) to the other side of the shuttle and route it to the LS port on the FieldPilot valve.
FieldPilot® 8. Install the valve control cable Connect the FieldPilot valve control cable (E) to the coils on the FieldPilot valve and route the cable into the cab. Connect it to the SCM harness. Do not be concerned at this time about which connector is connected to which solenoid coil. Figure 1-10: Install Valve Control Cable E 9. Install Steering Disengage Sensor Remove the shields around the steering column in the cab. Mount the bracket from kit (W) as shown.
FieldPilot® 10. Installation of Engage/Disengage Switch Connect item (A) to the connector on the SCM harness labeled Remote Engage/Disengage. Install the push button in a location that is easily accessible during operation of the machine. This switch (A) is not required if the optional foot switch 32-04020 is used. FieldPilot® 11. Recommended Electronics Installation The Steering Control Module (SCM) should be securely mounted as level as possible to the floor. It must be mounted with the arrows pointing toward the direction of travel. The control console can be mounted to the preference of the operator. The GPS antenna should be mounted as far forward as possible on the cab on a metal surface of at least 4” square. FieldPilot® 12. VERIFY OPERATION OF HYDRAULICS AND SET THE STEERING CONTROL RATE Clean and pick up the area around the vehicle and make certain that it is safe to operate. Start the engine and check hydraulic connections for leaks. Rotate the steering wheel from one extreme to the other and back to center, check for leaks. While steering through the extremes of movement, check the cables and hoses for wear points and strain, adjust as necessary.
