What Happened to AVI Files?
Snagit version 11 and later use MPEG-4 video files to playback and save video captures. Earlier versions
used AVIvideo files. Because of the change to the video player in Snagit Editor, AVIvideo files from earlier
versions of Snagit cannot be played in the Editor.
The first time Snagit runs after upgrading to version 11 or later, any auto-stored (unsaved) AVIfiles in your
Library are saved to a location of your choice.
AVIfiles created with Snagit can no longer be played in Snagit Editor, but they can still be used
in other video programs such as Camtasia Studio or Windows Media Player.
