What Happened to AVI Files?
Snagit version 11 and later use MPEG-4 video files to playback and save video captures. Earlier versions
used AVIvideo files. Because of the change to the video player in Snagit Editor, AVIvideo files from earlier
versions of Snagit cannot be played in the Editor.
The first time Snagit runs after upgrading to version 11 or later, any auto-stored (unsaved) AVIfiles in your
Library are saved to a location of your choice.
AVIfiles created with Snagit can no longer be played in Snagit Editor, but they can still be used
in other video programs such as Camtasia Studio or Windows Media Player.
