MPEG-4 Video Format
Snagit video captures are saved as MPEG-4 (MP4)video files encoded using the H.264 codec. This format is
compatible with nearly all modern video editors and websites that host and play video.
Snagit version 10.0 and earlier used AVIfiles for video recording. For information on what happened to

In previous versions of Snagit, it was possible to select the codec that was used with the
AVIfile format. In Snagit version 11 and later, only the H.264 codec is available.
