Record a Video Capture
To record a video capture using Snagit:
1. Select the Video profile (or select your capture settings in the Profile Settings pane and change the cap-
ture mode to Video) .
2. Click the Capture button or use the associated hotkey. Orange cross hairs appear.
3. Position the cross hairs to select a window or full screen. Click and drag the cross hairs to select a spe-
cific region.
Hold the <CTRL> key as you click and drag a region to lock the aspect ratio to 4:3
(standard). Hold the <SHIFT> key to obtain a 16:9 aspect ratio (widescreen).
After selecting a capture area, click and drag inside the selection frame to move it. Click the
Redo Selection button to start the selection process over.
Optionally, clickthe down arrow to the right of the Microphone Audio button to change the audio
source. Click the System Audio button to record audio from your computer. For more infor-

4. Click the Record button or press <SHIFT+F9> to begin recording the screen. For more information
about the recording interface, see Recording Interface Overview
While recording, the Record button becomes the Pause button (SHIFT +F9). Click the button
to pause the video capture without ending the recording.
When paused, click the Restart Recording button to abandon the current video capture while
keeping the current selection.
5. Click the Stop button or press <SHIFT +F10> to finish the recording.
Review your recording in Snagit Editor, save individual frames as images, save your recording as an MP4
video file, or send your recording to online destinations using Output accessories.For more information, see
