Spell Check
Spell check is available for the Text and Callout tools in the Snagit Editor and the Edit tab for text captures.
When a word is misspelled, a red line appears beneath the word. The red line is only displayed in callouts or
text boxes when text is actively being edited.
Enable or Disable Spell Check
Snagit Editor >File >Editor Options >General Tab >Enable spell check
Change Language
Snagit Editor > File >Editor Options >General Tab >Language dropdown
Snagit is installed with the following spell check dictionaries:
English (United States)
English (Great Britain)
German
French
Only one dictionary can be used to spell check text at a time.
Add a New Language Dictionary
Spell check in Snagit uses Hunspell, the same open source spell checker used by applications like Ope-
nOffice.org, Mozilla Firefox, and Google Chrome. To add additional language dictionaries for use in Snagit,
download a Hunspell-compatible dictionary and place it in the following directory:
C:\Program Files\TechSmith\Snagit 11\dictionaries
If the dictionary is Hunspell-compatible, the added dictionary appears in the Language dropdown in the Editor
Options.
