Image tab > Canvas group > Resize button
Resize the Entire Image
Change the size of the capture or image file to a specific dimension in pixels, inches,
centimeters, or by percentage.Changing the values in the Pixel Dimensions, Print
Dimensions, or Image Detail fields causes the values in the other fields to auto-
matically adjust to display your changes.
Pixel Dimensions
Enter the exact dimensions, in pixels,
to resize the image.
Print Dimensions
Select a unit(inches, centimeters, or
percent) and enter a width and height to
resize the image. The print dimensions
are calculated based on the resolution spec-
ified in the Image Detail section. The units dis-
played are for printing the file as is or for
programs that display a ruler(such as desktop
publishing applications); they do not match the
display dimensions of the image on your mon-
itor.
Image Detail
Change the DPIresolution of the image
to adjust the dots per inch (or more spe-
cifically for screen captures, the pixels
per inch). The Windows default is 96. Increas-
ing or lowering the DPIwith Use resampling
enabled automatically affects the pixel dimen-
sions as well as the print dimensions. Unless
you have a specific need for a changed DPI
(usually when working with a printer), it is rec-
ommended that the DPI resolution setting be
left at the default value of 96.
Other Options
Use resampling: When this option is enabled, Snagit resamples the image file when changing dimen-
sions or resolution to create a smoother image with less blurring due to up- or down-sizing. When Use
resampling is disabled, changing the resolution (DPI)of the image does not affect the pixel dimen-
sions.
