8.6. ALIGNING THE ELEVATION BARS

1. With the machine turned over on one side,
turn one of the elevation bars until the wheel
shaft holes on both bars are aligned.
2. Use a gauge to make sure that both elevation
bars project by the same distance A from the
lead screw nuts. If this is not the case, turn
one of the bars by half a turn at a time and
repeat the measurement until perfect
alignment is obtained.
3. Reassemble the wheel shaft.
This procedure must be carried out
whenever the wheel shaft is
reassembled.
