Create an I-Device GSD file and install it at your hardware catalog
with ‘Options è Create GSD file for I-Device’. Open the hardware
configuration of your higher-lever VIPA CPU and connect your I-
Device from ‘Preconfigured Stations’ .
The PROFINET CPU from VIPA can not be configured as I-Device
but it supports I- and Shared-Devices. For this to configure the PRO-
FINET CPU from VIPA you have to use the Siemens CPU 315-2 PN/
DP (6ES7 315-2EH14-0AB0) from the hardware catalog. For this the
Siemens SIMATIC Manager V 5.5, SP2 and up is to be used.
Besides the configuration, by means of the Siemens CPU 315-2 PN/
DP (6ES7 315-2EH14-0AB0), no further VIPA specific adjustments
are required for Shared-Devices.

Topology - Configuration
By configuring the topology you specify for the PROFINET IO con-
troller the physical connections between the stations in your PRO-
FINET IO system These "neighbourhood relations" are used among
others at "Device replacement without exchangeable medium". Here
by comparison of target and current topology, the IO device without a
name is detected and automatically integrated to the user data traffic.
By configuring the topology you have the following options:
n You can evaluate topological errors in your application program
n You have greater flexibility in planning and expansion of a plant
Support Topology editor is limited
Please consider that the support for the topology editor of
the Siemens SIMATIC Manager is limited. Here you have
only the possibility to configure the target topology offline.
An online matching is currently not possible. An intercon-
nection of the ports is also possible by means of the port
properties!
1. Click in the hardware configurator at the according PROFINET
port and open the properties dialog via ‘Context menu
è Object properties’ and select the register ‘Topology’
