Configuration PROFINET IO device
n The modules, which may be configured here are listed in the hard-
ware catalog.
n For the deployment of the PROFINET IO devices from VIPA you
have to include the modules into the hardware catalog by means
of the GSDML file from VIPA.
n After the installation of the GSDML file the PROFINET IO devices
from VIPA may be found in the hardware catalog at
‘PROFINET IO è Additional field devices è I/O è VIPA ...

Now the project engineering of the PROFINET IO controller is fin-
ished. Please link up now your IO devices with periphery to your IO
controller.
1. For the project engineering of PROFINET IO device you search
the concerning PROFINET IO device in the hardware catalog at
PROFINET-IO
and drag&drop it in the subnet of your IO con-
troller.
2. Assign a name to the IO device. The configured name must
match the name of the device. Information about setting the
device name can be found in the manual of the IO device.
3. Enter a valid IP address. The IP address is normally assigned
automatically by the hardware configurator. If this is not desired,
you can assign the IP address manually.
4. Link up the modules of your IO device in the plugged sequence
and add the addresses that should be used by the modules.
5. If needed, parametrize the modules.
6. Save, compile and transfer your project.
