3. Description
Grout Boost
®
additive mixes with cement-based grout in place of water
when grout is installed to provide resistance to water and oil–based
grout stains. For interior and exterior use.

Grout Boost
®
is mixed with a Portland cement based grout. All Portland cement based
products, including grout, have the potential for efflorescence and color shading, which
is not considered a manufacturing defect. Grout Boost
®
doesn’t cause efflorescence.

Coverage
For grout coverage rates, refer to grout manufacturer’s published
coverages. Grout Boost
®
additive generally will not alter the published
coverage rates of grout.

Storage
Store in a cool, dry location. Do not store in direct sunlight.
Shelf Life
18 months from the date of manufacture in unopened package. Once
opened, store any unused product in a sealed container and use within
6 months.
Limitations
When using Grout Boost
®
stain resistant grout additive, grout doesn’t
need to be sealed. If tile or stone needs to be sealed, do so before
grouting, or consult groutboost.com for a list of approved sealers. Avoid
applying sealer to tile/stone edges as this may prevent proper grout
bond. If enhancing tile and/or grout, use a solvent-based enhancer. Do
not use Grout Boost
®
additive with liquid, ready-to-use or epoxy grouts.
Certain tile surfaces, including glazed ceramic tile, marble, stone and
agglomerate tile can be scratched, stained or damaged when grouted
with sanded/colored grout. Follow tile manufacturer/fabricator
recommendations or test a small area prior to use to determine
suitability. Not recommended for installations where chemical resistance
is required. Never mix Grout Boost
®
additive with latex additive or any
other additives.

5. Installation Instructions
Surface Prep
For surface preparation, refer to grout manufacturer’s instructions.
Mixing Instructions for 27 fl. oz. (798 mL) Containers
Shake well before using. Pour approximately ¾ of the full container of
Grout Boost
®
additive into a clean mixing bucket, then slowly add entire
10 lb. (4.54 kg) bag of SANDED grout. For 10 lb. (4.54 kg) bag of
UNSANDED grout, start with one and one half 27 fl. oz. (798 mL) containers
of Grout Boost
®
. Mix well. Continue to add in more Grout Boost
®
additive
until the desired consistency is achieved. If all the Grout Boost
®
product
is added and additional liquid is still required to achieve the desired
consistency, up to 4 fl. oz. (118 mL) of clean cool water can be added.
Mixture should be easy to spread, but not pourable. Once desired
consistency is achieved, allow to sit in container for 10 minutes, then mix
again. Install grout according to grout manufacturer’s instructions. To help
ensure color consistency across the entire installation, use the same liquid
to grout proportions when using multiple containers for the same job.
Note: If mixing a half bag of SANDED grout, mix to consistency described
above, which should be approximately half of the 27 fl. oz. (798 mL)
container. If mixing a half bag of UNSANDED grout, mix to consistency
described above, which should be approximately one 27 fl. oz. (798 mL)
container.
